Lotz House Commemorates 150 th Anniversary of Civil War in Prints Limited Edition Hatch Show Prints Commemorate Sesquicentennial in Tennessee

)—September 28, 2010—The Lotz House has released limited edition Hatch Show Posters commemorating the upcoming Sesquicentennial anniversary of the American Civil War. There are a series of four limited edition prints. One for the State of Tennessee , one for the Battle of Franklin the other two prints depict Confederate leaders Robert E. Lee and Nathan Bedford Forrest. The retail cost for each Hatch Show print is $19.99 and $69.99 for the series of four, benefitting the Lotz House Foundation. The Tennessee Sesquicentennial begins in 2011 and runs through 2015.

In announcing the sale of the posters, Lotz House Executive Director J.T. Thompson said, “These prints are a unique opportunity for us to observe the Civil War and we produced these posters for Civil War enthusiasts. These posters will definitely be an instant and important collectible.” In producing these we wanted to make a collectible that was affordable so that everyone could own a piece of our very important history.

The Sesquicentennial anniversary will highlight profound events of the American Civil War, showing ways in which the war has shaped the nation. The anniversary will also bring to light the importance of preserving the hallowed battle grounds where so many fought and died nearly 150 years ago. The Lotz House has begun the commemoration early by offering the limited edition Hatch Show prints to the public.

Hatch Show Print was established in 1879 and has designed and printed posters for the biggest names in country music, including old-time Country Music Hall of Famers Johnny Cash, Hank Williams as well as, more contemporary ones such as Garth Brooks and Wynonna. Hatch Show posters became famous promoting vaudeville, circus and minstrel shows decades ago and continue to be a mainstay in Southern culture. The prints will be available at the Lotz House and other mid-state Civil War Museums. The Lotz House, which has been on the National Historic Register since 1976, is located in the heart of downtown historic Franklin, Tennessee at the epicenter of the Battle of Franklin which was a pivotal battle in the Civil War on November 30, 1864.
