Your guided tour includes viewing every room of this historic Civil War House Museum located directly across from The Carter House. You’ll learn the history of the house as well as the heritage of historic furnishings, fine arts, antiques, and the Lotz family history.

Free parking. Tours may be customized from 30 minutes – 1 hour. Special private tours are available of the Lotz House or Civil War battlefields throughout Middle Tennessee. Advance reservations are required. Please call for rates.

Customs and Courtesies:

Photography and video recording for personal use are permitted on the grounds of the Lotz House, but not inside the house.

Eating, drinking, and chewing gum are prohibited in the house. The Lotz House is a smoke-free environment.

As a courtesy, visitors with active or restless children are asked to take turns touring the house.

Leashed dogs that are not service animals are welcome at the Lotz House, but not permitted indoors.

Directions from Interstate 65 in Tennessee: Exit #65 (Franklin & Highway 96). Drive west on Hwy. 96 for one mile to the intersection of Mack Hatcher Boulevard. Continue straight through traffic light. Drive 1.5 miles following brown “Carter House” signs, over railroad tracks, and turn left at traffic light at Church Street. Go straight through two 4-way stop signs. At next traffic light, turn left onto Columbia Avenue (Hwy. 31 South). Drive 0.3 miles then turn left onto Fowlkes Avenue. The Lotz House is located at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Fowlkes Avenue.
